One  day I was going business to business about 8 years ago. I was just starting out. I was selling a Slot on a Multi-Client Flyer for $650 when I was pitching to this salon owner. She says  "I don't have $650" I said well, what about $500? She said, "I don't have $500." I said "Well, how much do you have to spend?" "She said $300." That's when I got creative for her. I said I will design and print you 2500 business cards, give you 1500 and I will pass out the remaining 1000 door to door in your target area. She said "SOLD" She continued to do this in some form or another monthly until she grew and sold her business.  That is why I love what I do! 

Whether you have a big budget that spares no expense or a small budget where you have to really think to make it work, marketing on a budget still beats no marketing at all. Some people put little or no thought into stretching their advertising dollars. You could have $300 and still reach 1000 homes with your message, designed printed and delivered.  You don't always have to have door hangers going out to your potential customers. You can change it up. You can use post cards or even business cards. That way they are less likely to recognize it until they look at it closer. This helps if they didn't like it the first time around when you change your marketing piece, now they're looking at it again from a different perspective given you  a second look therefore giving you a second chance. Little do they know that you switched from 5000 door hangers that cost $350 to print  to 5000 business cards that cost $150.

If this is true then just because you don't have $500 in the marketing budget does that mean don't do any marketing for that month? That is where you get creative and figure out how you can stretch your marketing dollars and get more for your money. Push on! Market on a budget.
